Superb reliquary frame made of real brown hair with flower and frieze decoration on an ivory background, dating from the 19th century Napoleon III period. It also features initials. Label with the name of the hairdresser who made the reliquary on the back: Legros. Beautiful blackened wood frame with gilded fillet, classic of the Second Empire style.
This type of reliquary was very common and was made from the hair of the deceased, thus preserving the memory of the deceased.
