Rare and exceptional piece.

Antique GOLDSMITH Larry Barton glove and baseball, once owned by an American soldier during World War II. US WW2, 1939/1945 .

 

There are numerous annotations describing the history of the campaigns dated and carried out by the soldier.

 

Non-exhaustive list of annotations:

C.T Turnbill (probably the soldier's name)

Backnang, Benslein, oehrringen, Grossgartach, Reckendorf, Ludwigsbourg, cologne, Monville, Le Havre etc....

Camp Forest, Camp Roberts, Fort Lewis, Camp Gordon, Fort Jackson, Camp Miles Standish 

Tennessee.

 George Washington Goethals (name of a US ship)

And many other annotations to decipher. 

 

The glove is in good condition. The ball is loose.

In its original condition with traces of age and wear. Nice patina.
