Large fritted Egyptian divinity Horus figurine, Late Period
Ancient anthropomorphic figurine of a man with a falcon head representing the god Horus, crowned with the solar disk. The deity is represented standing, hieroglyphics written on his back. Horus, was the god of the sky and protector of the pharaohs in ancient Egypt.
The statuette was made of blue enameled frit, a ceramic material very common in ancient Egypt, which also gave birth to the famous “Egyptian blue”. Its dating is probably in the Late Period or the Macedonian (Ptolemaic) period.
In its original condition with traces of age and wear.
