Framed herbarium with botanical composition 67x77cm, Florence 1902
Antique herbarium framed under glass with a composition of plants. The botanical study was carried out by Professor Moroni, via de Tornabuoni, Florence. It consists of four plant species, stylized in an urn drawn in red ink. A handwritten label at the bottom of the composition mentions the important details of the composition, as well as a few annotations on the names of the plants.
Framed in off-white painted wood. The reverse of the frame is laminated with Italian newspapers from the period, allowing the composition to be precisely dated.
In its original state, with traces of age and wear.
