Huile sur panneau fête galante au lévrier, XIXème Monticelli

Oil on panel gallant feast with greyhound, 19th century, in the spirit of Monticelli

Magnificent painting representing two gallant young women in a park, accompanied by a greyhound-type dog. The painting was done in oil on panel. No signature, very beautiful gilt wood frame with relief plant decoration. The scene represents what is called " une fête galante ", which  designates playful outdoor meetings organized by the wealthy_5cc78 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_aristocrats from the 18th century. The expression is especially used for the scenes representing these meetings in the French painting.

The style of the painting is in the spirit of the Marseille painter Adolphe Monticelli of the 19th century.

Painting in good condition, frame in its juice with traces of seniority and wear.

This is a high quality painting that can complement an orientalist or romantic decoration.
