Advertising poster for Absinthe Oxygénée 1900, antique cardboard, Bioletto Lyon
Rare original vintage advertising poster
“Absinthe Oxygénée – Premier Fils,” circa 1900, printed by Photo Bioletto in Lyon.
Photographic technique on thick cardboard, typical of Belle Époque advertisements for cafés and grocery stores.
The Premier Fils company was founded in 1882 in Romans-sur-Isère by Louis Philippe Premier. In 1894, it launched an “oxygenated” version of its absinthe, an innovative process aimed at improving the quality and reputation of the product. The poster shows an elegant woman enjoying a glass of absinthe, as well as a bottle highlighted in a star.
Old wooden frame, probably original. Slight traces of sun damage, slight warping and patina consistent with the age of the piece.
Authentic, decorative piece representative of late 19th-century French advertising.
