Superb antique metal box dating from the early 20th century, containing medicinal lozenges made from menthol and scurocaine (a derivative of lidocaine). This box is a true testament to the pharmaceutical practices of yesteryear, and to retro medical marketing. A time when substances now banned were commonly used to treat throat ailments.
