Octagonal betel nut box, embossed silver hallmark, China 1900
Old beautiful betel box from Asia. The box is octagonal in shape with a hinged lid, made of ethnic embossed and chiseled silver. Hallmark on the reverse.
The decorative details and precision are very beautiful: plants, reserves, openwork work...
Betel is a substance derived from betel leaves and nuts from the same tree, used in particular in Asia for its tonic effect. It is used as a chewing preparation.
Good general condition, in its own juice with traces of age and wear, original patina. The titration of ethnic silver gives a different patina from 925 silver.
This is an antique object that can complete a cabinet of curiosities or an Asian Art collection.
