Bronze d’un singe porteur de lanterne costumé

Bronze of a costumed lantern-carrying monkey on a marble base, 19th century

In the style of Christophe Fratin, antique patinated bronze figurine of a lantern-carrying monkey. The subject is treated in an interesting way, as the monkey stands on its legs like a human being. He is dressed in 18th-century style, wearing a feathered bicorne hat and uniform. In his right hand, the monkey holds a lantern with an openwork star motif. The lantern is held by a ring that allows it to wobble freely.
The figurine is presented on its square marble base, with slight movement but well secured.

Good condition, in its original condition with traces of age and wear. Nice patina.

This is an authentic vintage object that can style your interior decoration or complete a cabinet of curiosities collection (animalia, animal bronze, satire of the nobility, etc.).
