Superb small bronze from Vienna depicting a standing Borzoi (Russian greyhound).
Austrian work from the late 19th century, attributed to the circle of Franz Xaver Bergmann (1861–1936), famous for the finesse of his polychrome animal bronzes.
The sculpture is finely detailed: long, wiry coat, tapered muzzle, curved tail, and delicately painted collar.
The original cold-painted polychromy is well preserved, with slight wear due to age.
