Magnificent radiating cross in gilded metal, from a former Italian convent. This rare piece, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, is a fine example of a traditional liturgical ornament, rich in Christian symbols.
Detailed description:
Light metal structure painted in gold leaf, with a central silver medallion adorned with the famous monogram IHS, an abbreviation of the name of Jesus.
Stylized rays around the center evoke divine light and Eucharistic adoration.
Original hooks on the back, indicating that it was probably fixed above a tabernacle or on an altarpiece.
Condition:
Good overall condition, with regular natural wear to the gilding, attesting to its authenticity and age.
