An inrō is a small Japanese box, traditionally used during the Edo period (1603-1868) and the early 20th century, to carry precious objects such as seals, medicines, or herbs. These boxes were often worn by men, attached to the belt of a kimono (obi), as traditional Japanese clothing had no pockets.
A fine collectible for lovers of Asian art.
