Club, Kanak “bird's beak” puzzle – New Caledonia. 19th century

A beautiful traditional Kanak club, “bird's beak” model, carved from hardwood with a deep, natural patina. This type of weapon was used both as a combat tool and as a symbol of prestige among Kanak chiefdoms. The characteristic tapered shape of the head is well preserved.
