Bird in Flight - Authentic Vienna Bronze (19th - Early 20th Century)
Magnificent Vienna bronze statuette depicting a bird (sparrow or chickadee) captured in mid-flight. This object bears witness to the exceptional craftsmanship of Austrian foundries during the Belle Époque, renowned for their naturalistic precision.
The chiseling work is extremely delicate, particularly visible in the detail of the feathers on the outstretched wings and body. The patina, with its golden and brown tones, is original.
The bird has a ground base under its belly, a characteristic sign of having been mounted on a marble pedestal, a trinket tray, or a period inkwell. The object is in good condition with natural wear and tear that gives it all its historical charm.
No visible markings (production by secondary workshops or markings on the original base).
Ideal for collectors of animal bronzes, lovers of display objects, or to complete a set of antique desk accessories.
