Pyrogenic fisherman's basket

Old bronze animal pyrogen, representing a fisherman's basket with his fish and a snail.

The pyrogens were formerly used as match holder, and were provided with a scraper which was used to ignite the match, very useful before the generalization of the lighters. Here, the scraper is on the back.

In good condition with a nice brown patina, traces of age.
