Ancient reliquary, wax seal – Ex Stipite Affixionis / Ex Scala Crucis. 19th century

Rare antique rectangular Catholic reliquary containing two relics identified by handwritten inscriptions:


Ex Stipite Affixionis: fragment from the wood of the Crucifixion Cross.
Ex Scala Crucis: fragment of the "Ladder of the Cross," traditionally associated with the Descent of Christ.


Interior decoration in red fabric edged with gold braid and silk cords.
The reverse is sealed with a red wax seal and silk threads, attesting to the reliquary's integrity.
