The piece is marked under the base with the famous APK monogram, corresponding to the De Grieksche A (The Greek A) factory, run at that time by Pieter Adriaensz. Kocks, one of the most important factories in Delft.
Description:
Vase with a faceted body, bulging belly and elongated neck ending in a bulge known as a "garlic head ."
Intense blue decoration on a white background with floral, foliage, and lambrequin motifs, executed in high fire.
The ochre paste visible under the enamel losses confirms that this is tin-glazed earthenware, not porcelain.
